There are a number of budget hearings to be held throughout this month in room 260 of the City-County building, 200 E. Washington Street. Here is a listing:
County Auditor, recorder, surveyor, administrator, treasurer and county commissioners: Starting on Tuesday, August 21st at 5pm.
County and township assesors: 5:40 on August 28th.
Sheriff and Police: 5:30 on August 29th.

A number of taxpayer groups have planned protests over increases in property taxes.
Sunday: “Black Sunday.” Supporters will wear black to show unity and carry signs to “let them know how you feel” on holding local government accountable. The rally will be at Monument Circle from 10am to 2pm. Several groups seeking tax reform are organizing the event.
Monday: Hoosiers for Fair Taxation, which gathered at the governors official residence on July 4th, will hold a rally at 5:30 pm at the City-County Building in Downtown Indianapolis. The group also is asking for volunteers to staff an information booth during Indiana Black Expo on July 21 and 22.
Join the Indianapolis Star and WTHR (Channel 13) for “Taxing Time: A Town Hall Meeting,: from 7:30 to 9pm July 23rd at University Place at IUPUI, 850 W Michigan Street.
A panel of elected officials and community leaders will answer questions and concerns. WTHR will broadcast the event live.
State Senator Luke Kenley, R-Noblesville, announced Wednesday a series of public hearings on property taxeswill be at 9am, July 23 in the auditorium of the Indiana Government Center South, 402 W. Washington Street.
Kenley, recently named chairman of the Commission on State Tax and Financing Policy, said those unable to attend the meeting can see the proceedings live or archived via the internet at www.in.gov/legislative/session/video.html
